The Meinl Cymbals Drum Honey Dampening Gel Pads come in a 12 piece assortment of varying sizes and are a great alternative to plastic rings. They are made of a dense gel and do not dry out as quickly as other similar products. They are effective in controlling ring and come with a container and dividers for storage. Customers have used them on top and bottom heads of drums to shorten sustain and knock down high overtones when heads are too "ringy". They can also be used to accentuate high overtones and knock down the fundamental pitch of the head. The dots do not fall off and are easy to move around on the drum to experiment with adjusting overtones/sustain. They are perfect for worship drumming where a smaller sound is required. These gel pads are more tacky but last as long as moon gels, with customers citing them as better and that they come in more significant quantities. However, some users note that they can stick to fingers, making application difficult.
