This tool kit includes a LAN tester, crimp tool, 20 RJ45 modular plugs, cable cutter and wire stripper, and punch down tool. The LAN tester requires a 9 volt battery and tests all 8 wires of a LAN cable. The kit works well for DIY projects but some professionals have found the crimp tool to be weak, and the LAN tester to be flimsy and low quality. It is possible to use the tester in the field but access to both ends of the cable is necessary. The crimping tool does not work well with passthrough connectors but a wire cutter tool and wire stripping tool with cutter are included, and the punch down tool is impact.
