Are there color options?
Answer: No, all are uniform appearance, silver foil appearance -

Is this product suitable to sound proof and insulate the inside of a cowling on my 9.5hp outboard motor?
Answer: I used it on the underside of the engine cowling of my van. It works great to reduce both heat and sound. However, I don't know what effects it might have on an outboard motor. It might get too hot inside there. -

Can this be used to sound proof a room in a house?
Answer: It survives the extreme temperatures of a car so it could be used for a house. I would think you might want a thicker foam though. If you're looking to make a sound room for music there are probably better foams available. Where it might work on a sound room is between joints in lumber or sound conduction paths. -

Can I use this to lessen the sound in my HVAC return vent which is so loud?
Answer: These sound deadening pads are recommended for vehicles with high-end audio, etc. -

Answer: It is suitable for pickup cabs. It has a good sound insulation or heat insulation effect. -

Where is this made?
Answer: It's a rubbery, mostly closed cell foam and aluminum skin. The description calls it PE which probably stands for polyethylene but there are many types of that stuff. It does seem to work well and I didn't have residual smell in the car after I put it in. I was worried that the plastic might off-gas some smells but nothing like that when I put it in. It does a pretty good job of conforming to contours and once you press on it, it will bond well.
