The rain chain comes with a V-shaped hook that you can put through the top of the chain and into the hole in your gutter. Alternatively, you can buy a gutter adapter. The chain can be easily extended by hand by adding two chains together to make a longer length, and it can also be unattached to make a shorter length. The product received mixed reviews. Some customers found it to be very pretty and sturdy, and although it has not rained yet to see how well it controls water, they enjoy it overall. However, other customers had issues with the rain splattering all over and creating a mess, and the V-shaped connectors breaking easily during installation. Some customers found it to be completely useless and had to go back to traditional downspouts as rain splatters a lot and can cause water to hit the house if the overhang is too close.
